Los Angeles Lakers rumors: No LeBron meeting scheduled, team will still pursue
By Jack Crosby
LeBron James has reportedly begun seeking his options outside of the Miami Heat. After it was first thought that opting out of his deal with the team was purely to tell the Heat to get talent around him, thus prompting an immediate return for less money. Well now that the Heat have struck out a few times, a new destination for the best player in the world is a possibility, such as him landing with the Los Angeles Lakers.
If a move out to Los Angeles is going to happen, though, it’s apparently going to take a lot as the team has not spoken to James’ agent, nor will they in the immediate future–but, they would like to pursue it some more.
On Thursday the Lakers met with another big name on the market, Carmelo Anthony, and following that meeting they are reportedly set to offer Melo a max contract to come out and help them get back on top in the Western Conference.
