With the Fourth of July upon us, it’s time to get set for one of the more anticipated sporting events of the year, the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest. Yes, for those of you that are unfamiliar with this practice, we love to get our Independence Day started by watching humans consume an ungodly amount of hot dogs.
This year, though, will be a bit more interesting. Last year, en route to his seventh consecutive title, Joey Chestnut broke his own world record by consuming 69 hot dogs in the allotted time.
As he was pushing toward this number, you could see the anticipation in the people’s faces, wondering whether or not he would actually hit the 70 number.
Well, apparently Las Vegas is interested in this as well, because the latest betting odds as to how many dogs Chestnut will consume on Friday is set at–you guessed it, 70.5.
Will Joey Chestnut eat at least 70 hot dogs?
· Yes 10/11
· No 10/11
70 hot dogs in just 10 minutes is an insane feat to think about, but as Chestnut showed last year, it can most certainly be done and he would be the man to do it.
What do you think? Can Chestnut eat 70 on Friday? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
