New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony was visiting teams this week as part of NBA free agency, and started off with a trip to visit the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday. It was originally reported that point guard and former MVP Derrick Rose worked out for Anthony, but ESPN’s Chris Broussard is reporting that was unintentional and unplanned.
That Rose was shocked to see
Sources: DRose was not part of Bulls’ official recruitment of Melo. He just happened to b working out at UC. Was shocked to see Melo

“Derrick wasn’t bothered that he wasn’t a part of it,” a source said. “He was just kind of shocked, like ‘Man, I didn’t get the memo.’”
“Derrick was just working out, shooting jumpers, going through his normal routine,” a source said. “He didn’t even know what time Melo was coming.”
I don’t buy that for one minute. Rose would’ve had to been the only person remotely interested in basketball in the United States not to know Anthony was going to be in Chicago. Did he not turn on SportsCenter at all in the past week or so? Not even to check out their shiny new set?
How would Rose not have known Anthony was going to be there that day while pulling up to the United Center that had large photoshopped images of Melo in a Bulls uniform everywhere?
