On Friday the annual Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest will be taking lace and many people around the country will be watching closely as they wonder how in the hell it is possible to scarf down so many hot dogs in just ten minutes time.
The record for men was set by Joey Chestnut with a whopping 69 hot dogs, while the women’s record set by Sonya “The Black Widow” Thomas is at 45.
While you watch the contest, you may be feeling some disgust and say to yourself, “this cannot be healthy,” and while you are right, the competitive eaters have conditioned their bodies to handle the rough competition.
So if you are wondering “how many hot dogs can you eat before you die?” you may need to keep wondering.
There is no exact number, but eating unhealthy foods does increase your chances of suffering a heart attack or heart disease, especially if those foods are high in saturated fats.
So while we are left to continue wondering how many hot dogs we can eat before kicking the bucket, it is say to assume that your average human should not be trying to chow down on 69 hot dogs in ten minutes.
