The virus spreads in new TV Spot for The Strain (Video)

We are just over a week away from the series premiere of the creepy new sci-fi series The Strain.

Last week, we showed you a new featurette for the series that takes you behind the scenes of the new series and gives you a real look at some of the characters in the series and where they really hope to take the concept.

Now, fans can get a look at a new TV Spot for the series that shows the spread of the virus and what happens when it finally transforms you.

For those of you who do not know, The Strain is based off of a trilogy of novels written by horror icon and Academy Award nominated director Guillermo Del Toro and best-selling author Chuck Hogan.

The series will follow the story of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather as he and his team at the Centers for Disease Control work together to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak that turns out to be an ancient strain of vampirism.

As Dr. Goodweather says in the TV Spot, when they come out the other side, they’re something completely different.

Del Toro will direct the first episode of the series.

Carlton Cuse, who has worked on series like Lost and Bates Motel will serve as Showrunner for The Strain.

The series will star House of Cards actor Corey Stoll as Dr. Ephraim Goodweather. The Strain also stars Harry Potter actor David Bradley, Lord of the Rings actor Sean Astin, Anne Betancourt, Nikolai Witschl, Natalie Brown, Ben Hyland, Drew Nelson, Pedro Miguel Arce, Alex Paxton-Beesley, and more.

The Strain is set to premiere in Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 10:00 p.m. on FX.
