The saga of Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon took another turn for the worse on Saturday with the news that the troubled NFL star had been arrested in North Carolina on charges of driving while impaired. It was another blow to the young man, as well as the team.

Not long after the announcement, Browns general manager Ray Farmer issued a brief statement on the incident.

Gordon was set have a hearing this month to determine whether or not he could get his recent year-long suspension reduced following another failed drug test, but any hopes that he or the team had for getting that sentences lifted a bit are all but out the window now as he deals with his latest trouble.

This is now an alarming situation for one of the brightest stars in the National Football League. Just last season, Gordon was the most prolific wide receiver in the league, despite shaky quarterback play, catching for over 1,600 yards and nine touchdowns.

However, just as the NFL Draft got underway this past May, Gordon was hit with his second failed marijuana test, resulting in the suspension for one year.
