Miami Heat rumors: ‘Big 3’ causing free agent struggles?
By Bryan Rose
The Miami Heat say they never offered a contract to Marcin Gortat or Kyle Lowry, two players they were rumored to have free agent interest in. So what’s the issue? Apparently money as the Miami Heat, still unsure of what’s to come from LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade have not been able to offer potential free agents concrete figures on contracts.

Pat Riley and the Miami Heat front office have an idea of what type of funds they’ll be able to afford to present free agents, however, an actual figure has escaped them as they need James, Wade and Bosh all signed on the dotted line before knowing their true cap space.
Given that, Yahoo Sports reports that agents are unsure of what type of contracts their clients can receive from the Miami Heat given their financial uncertainty.
Ironically, given the inability to get LeBron James re-signed quickly (and thus the inability to get both Bosh and Wade signed), it almost seems as if the ‘Big 3’ have hurt their ability to better their team as key free agents continue to get plucked off the board while Riley and the Heat front office twirl their fingers in hopes of retaining their superstar team.
LeBron James allegedly informed the Heat’s front office that they needed to better the team for him to re-sign, but right now, he appears to be the one hurting the franchise the most since he’s preventing the rest of the dominoes from falling into place.
