The Milwaukee Bucks were rumored to have trade interest in Jeremy Lin of the Houston Rockets on Saturday morning, but news quickly leaked out suggesting that while the Bucks do like Lin as a player, they weren’t interested in obtaining his hefty salary.

More from Milwaukee Bucks

That doesn’t mean the Milwaukee Bucks aren’t interested in spending money however as Marc Stein of ESPN reports that not only are the Bucks interested in point guard Greivis Vasquez but also Eric Bledsoe.

“In addition to weighing possible trade for Lin, I’m told Bucks are pitching offer sheet to RFA Eric Bledsoe and pursuing PG Greivis Vasquez,” says Stein.

Both Vasquez and Bledsoe are restricted free agents (as mentioned above) meaning their current teams have the right to match any offer sheet presented to the players, so it’s not as if the Bucks can outright sign either player.

Given that, it might be difficult for the Bucks to bring Eric Bledsoe aboard considering the Phoenix Suns (his current team) have stated multiple times that they plan to match any offer he recieves, be it a maximum level contract or not. However, the Milwaukee Bucks may have better success with Greivis Vasquez as his former team, the Toronto Raptors, have heavily invested in Kyle Lowry. It’s not known if Toronto will want to throw significant money towards a backup point guard, so they may not be as willing to match as Phoenix is with Bledsoe.

Obviously the Milwaukee Bucks would likely prefer Eric Bledsoe to Greivis Vasquez as he’s the more talented player between the two, but he may not be as realistic of an option.
