With the 2014 college football season arriving in the very near future, chatter is beginning to build as to what to expect from the upcoming campaign. For the first time, the season will conclude with a playoff in order to crown the National Champion, but in addition to the team-based success stories, the college gridiron never fails to produce suspense surrounding the pursuit of the Heisman Trophy.

The Heisman represents perhaps the most coveted and famous individual honors in all of American sports, and in what has become a somewhat regular occurrence, last year’s recipient is back to defend his title. However, there is certainly a group of worthy challengers to the throne this season, and in this space, we will break down some of the big names to keep an eye on as the season nears its beginning.
