DirecTV has long been the only place where NFL fans from out of market can guarantee they’ll see their favorite team. Its exclusive “Sunday Ticket” package has been a very popular draw, and the innovation of the RedZone channel has led to more thinking outside the box.
ForTheWin.com is reporting that DirecTV will add a live fantasy football channel to its lineup on the Sunday Ticket package.
According to the report, the channel won’t emanate out of the Los Angeles studios where RedZone comes from, but will take place in a loft-like setting from New York.
The report also describes the channel as one that will focus on how the day’s games are affecting fantasy football stats only:
The Fantasy Zone channel will also be broadcasting while games are in progress, but will focus solely on how the live action is affecting the day’s fantasy stats, with up to the minute game-to-game analysis, stats and on-screen tickers that offer projections and key player updates
According to the report, hosting this new channel will be former NFL linebacker Dhani Jones and Kay Adams. The latter has become one of the biggest names in fantasy football, establishing herself within NBCSports’ Rotoworld site.
The channel will be available on the same tier as RedZone, which is available on the Sunday Ticket Max package and will be available on mobile devices and computers for those who have the package.
