The Thunder have looked at several free agents but seem to have really honed in on New Orleans Pelicans’ free agent swingman Anthony Morrow and Los Angeles Lakers’ free agent big man Pau Gasol.
The Thunder currently lead the Heat, among several other teams, to acquire Morrow and are really making a push to sign Gasol. They had their two stars, point guard Russell Westbrook and the 2013-2014 NBA MVP Kevin Durant, meet with Gasol last week.
Per Marc Stein of ESPN.com, Gasol met with Thunder head coach Scott Brooks on Monday to listen to his pitch, but the competition remains stiff.
Gasol averaged 17.4 points, 9.7 rebounds 3.4 assists and 1.5 blocks per game last season. He shot 48.0% from the field, 28.6% from beyond the arc and 73.6% from the free throw line
