Earlier today there were reports suggesting that the Houston Rockets might be fearful that Chris Bosh will return to the Miami Heat, leading them to reach out to Luol Deng in free agency. However, it seems there may have been a change of heart as according to Yahoo Sports, communication continues to flow between Bosh and the Houston Rockets.

More from Houston Rockets

The Houston Rockets have long expressed interest in Chris Bosh (even before the ‘Big 3′ opted out of their contracts) though were seemingly an afterthought as many expected LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Bosh to return to South Beach. However, given the uncertainty the Rockets decided to make a push to sign Bosh and even allegedly offered him a max contract a few days ago.

Now as the NBA world waits on LeBron James’ free agency decision, talks have continued between the Rockets and Bosh in case James does decide to leave the Heat.

The Rockets have been looking for a ‘star’ to place alongside both James Harden and Dwight Howard, a role Chris Bosh would fill rather well.

His away from the basket game would allow Dwight Howard to play in the post, both offensively and defensively and Bosh’s lack of defensive skills would be hidden by Howard. It seems like a near perfect match in that regard which is why the Rockets are likely pressing so hard to get Bosh to sign on the dotted line.

If Bosh does leave the Miami Heat, the Houston Rockets will likely need to trade Jeremy Lin to create the needed cap space.
