Courtney Love joins the cast of the final season of Sons of Anarchy

Each day that passes by brings us one day closer to the seventh, and unfortunately final, season of the hit FX Original Series Sons of Anarchy.

While we still have about two and a half months until the boys of SAMCRO come riding back onto our television screens, thankfully we don’t have to wait until September to get a hint at what fans can look forward to in the new season.

Yesterday, fans got treated to the very first teaser trailer from the upcoming season that came bearing some rather ominous imagery.

Now, according to TV Line, there has been another addition made to the cast of the final season of Sons of Anarchy.

It seems as if Hole singer Courtney Love will be joining the cast in what is considered to be a pivotal arc in the season. Before you ask, yes…that Courtney Love and no…we’re not kidding.

Love will be taking on the role of a woman by the name of Ms. Harrison. She is going to be Abel’s preschool teacher. She is described by TV Line as a “straight shooter who takes a special interest in Abel.”

One can only imagine how Abel’s mother Wendy, who is played in the series by Drea de Matteo, is going to react to something like this.

While a lot of the details are unknown at this point, it would stand to reason that with Tara effectively out of the picture thanks to Gemma and a well-placed barbecue fork, Wendy would be looking to take a much bigger role in her child’s life.

This is Love’s first real role in a television series; however, she has plenty of feature credits under her belt like her portrayal of Althea Leasure Flynt in The People vs. Larry Flynt. She also starred in 200 Cigarettes alongside Ben Affleck, Man on the Moon with Jim Carrey, and Sid and Nancy along with Gary Oldman.

Unfortunately, as I said before, this is going to be the final ride of the Redwood Originals. If fans have come to know series creator Kurt Sutter as well as we think we have, there is one thing for sure; this is going to be a dark, twisted, and winding road for the boys of SAMCRO.

All I can say is that I hope you have your heart securely guarded, because I have a feeling we are going to lose more than one of our favorite characters before the show rides off into the sunset.

Sons of Anarchy will begin its final ride in September on FX.
