The world has stopped turning to wait and see what LeBron James decides to do in free agency this year but there is still unresolved business with Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks that many are hoping takes shape soon.

More from NBA

A Melo decision was supposed to come down on Monday but was held off on until Tuesday. But Thursday afternoon as rolled around in New York and the Knicks still have yet to hear from Carmelo Anthony about what he intends on doing next season. There were reports on Wednesday that he plans on taking the Knicks max offer but he has yet to state any of that himself.

There will have to be a decision made at some point but it seems as though Melo is waiting out LeBron James to see what happens and if that changes anything. Of course, he could just be taking his time as well since he has options on the table that all make sense for him.

What makes the most sense though is taking the max with the Knicks and then either playing for them or demanding a trade to either Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston or Dallas.

A lot can still happen but the one thing that needs to happen — Melo signing with someone — hasn’t yet.
