NBA Rumors: LeBron James’ decision not imminent
By Sam Richmond
The basketball world came to a halt Thursday afternoon when rumors began spreading that Akron police were expecting LeBron James to make his free agency announcement at 3:30 ET.
Some were expecting that, because Akron’s area code is 330, a 3:30 ET announcement from James would mean he’s heading back to Cleveland.

However, 3:30 ET has passed and LeBron has made no announcement.
Additionally, Sam Amick of USA Today Sports reports that the decision won’t be happening in the next hour.
While LeBron hasn’t announced his decision yet, the Cavs still seem to be the heavy favorite at this point. There’s even one report, via Chris Sheridan of Sheridan Hoops, that James to Cleveland is a done deal.
"The Decision has been made. LeBron James is returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers, a league source tells SheridanHoops.com.James met with Miami Heat president Pat Riley today in Las Vegas to deliver the news. A contingent of other Heat officials were informed they were not welcome at the meeting, according to a source who spoke on condition of anonymity. An official announcement will be made on www.lebronjames.com, as I first reported yesterday."
LeBron averaged 27.1 points, 6.9 rebounds and 6.4 assists with Miami last season. His presence in Cleveland would immediately make the Cavs the favorite in the Eastern Conference.
However, it looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer to find out if he’s truly heading home.
