New York Knicks Rumors: Phil Jackson confirms Pau Gasol contact
By Josh Hill
The New York Knicks are after ways to try and get Carmelo Anthony back to the team but they’re similarly trying to find ways to make sure that they’re getting enough players on roster to stay competitive on the floor and that’s something that has caused Phil Jackson to reach out to his former player Pau Gasol.

Jackson confirmed on THursday that he has reached out multiple times to Gasol over the course of free agency and that he hopes his ties with the Spanish forward will help overcome the lack of funds the Knicks have to offer him.
This is a development that we’ve sen coming for a while but it by no means puts the Knicks in a position of power to get Gasol. Their primary focus is getting Carmelo Anthony back and under contract but getting Gasol seems to be the second order of business after that. The bottom line is, Gasol makes the Knicks a better and more exciting team and it’s a fit that makes a lot of sense in more than one way.
