As a professional baseball player (or coach), you have a lot of downtime. Sure, you might spend a few hours going through your pre-game routine which includes eating, viewing some video and going through batting practice. But what do you do during the rest of time?

Well, if your Seattle Mariners pitching coach Rick Waits, you get crunk to the summer anthem ‘Turn Down For What’.

Yep, that’s exactly what took place during a recent Seattle Mariners batting practice as Waits was standing in the outfield with a handful of players as they went through their pre-game workout. That’s when pitcher Tom Wilhelmsen made his way over to Waits and began dancing uncontrollably as the hit song by DJ Snake and Lil’ Jon began blasting through the Safeco Field speakers.

Most coaches probably would have either stood there in a rather uncomfortable stance as the player got his groove on or walked away as if they were attempting to avoid a plague. But not Waits, who after a moment of Wilhelmsen dancing in his face threw off his glove and went nuts.

After the glove, hat and sunglasses were thrown away, that’s when Waits began stripping and it was clear fellow members of the Seattle Mariners organization who were on the field couldn’t help but contain their laughter.

Nice to see a coach and a player having such a fun time together and letting loose. It’s been a radical transformation in the Mariners clubhouse over the course of the past few seasons and this is part of the reason why.
