Carmelo Anthony rumors: Melo deciding between Bulls and Knicks, Lakers are out of race
By Jack Crosby
With the news breaking on Friday that LeBron James will be heading back to the Cleveland Cavaliers, it’s now time for the other free agency dominoes to fall. Next up should be an announcement from Carmelo Anthony, who is reportedly now deciding between the Bulls and the Knicks, meaning that one team will be left out in the cold, and that’s the Los Angeles Lakers.
According to Stephen A. Smith, Melo is now down to just two teams, robbing everyone of a potential alignment with Kobe Bryant out on the west coast.
This news could be considered somewhat shocking, especially given that all of the reports that came from his meeting with the Lakers last week were rather positive. Reportedly, when the meeting was finished, the Lakers put a max deal on the table, but it appears that he will now be turning that down.

It seems more and more as if a return to the Knicks is more likely than anything right now. Carmelo could indeed join the Bulls, but in the future if he were to demand a trade from the Knicks,
At this point, very few people would be surprised if Melo took the max offer from the Knicks and then sees how everything goes from there. If he is still unhappy, say, two years from now, then he could express his interest in going to play with Derrick Rose and company, or another organization of his choosing.
