The Houston Rockets are now kicking their offseason plans into high gear on the heels of the announcement by LeBron James that he is heading back to Cleveland. Those plans revolved around trading Jeremy Lin away and clearing up cap space to sign Chris Bosh.

More from Houston Rockets

According to Adrian Wojnarowski form Yahoo! Sports, the Los Angeles Lakers are acquiring Jeremy Lin — a guard that NBA fans at one point in time could not stop talking about — for virtually nothing.

Houston is getting fleeced in the Lin trade but getting value back for him is not what they were interested in. The move from the beginning was to acquire cap space to fir Chris Bosh and his max contract ont he books and that’s what the Rockets are acquiring in the trading of Line.

As for the Lakers, the front office that has been blasted for making bad deals in recent years held the Rockets hostage and ended up getting a first-round pick along with Lin which proves that the Lakers front office can still get it done when it needs to.
