It is becoming increasingly obvious that free agent big man Pau Gasol has no intention of returning to the Los Angeles Lakers.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

On Friday afternoon, news surfaced that Gasol had turned down one two-year offer from the Lakers.

That led to Gasol being linked to a potential sign-and-trade between with the Lakers and Chicago Bulls or perhaps even finding a home with the defending NBA champion San Antonio Spurs.

Later, it was learned that the Atlanta Hawks are set to make a late and aggressive push.

But was there ever a chance that Gasol could do a 180 and return to Los Angeles?

It certainly doesn’t seem that way.

As it turns out, Gasol turned down not one, but two offers from the Lakers.

Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles writes:

Sorry, Lakers fans.

If you were hoping to have Gasol return, it doesn’t appear that is going to happen.
