Cubs fan catches home run ball, throws fake ball back

There is an unwritten rule amongst baseball fans, you throw a home run ball back when it comes from the opposing team. One particular Chicago Cubs fan caught a home run baseball in the bleachers and felt the pressure to throw the ball back.

He did a little spin around and then threw the ball back onto the field to the delight of the rest of the fans in the bleachers. But watch closely, and listen to the announcers obviously narrate it, to see the fan pull the old switcheroo.

He pulls a replica baseball out of his pocket and throws it onto the field allowing him to keep the real baseball. He then is shown on camera marveling at the authentic ball in all its glory.

Hard to believe an adult was so in awe of a baseball, or that he felt the need to pull off a tick to keep it.

But hey, to each their own I guess. He got to keep the real baseball which was free while he threw away the ball he paid for.
