The Pittsburgh Steelers and Miami Dolphins got some troubling news this Saturday morning when a report surfaced that two of their players were supposedly involved in an alleged assault overnight.

More from Miami Dolphins

According to Pro Football Talk, it appears that while there is in ongoing investigation into accusations the Pouncey brothers were involved in assaulting a man, evidence is suggesting that no such thing took place.

"Although police are investigating after a man claimed early this morning that he was assaulted by Dolphins center Mike Pouncey and Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey, a source with knowledge of the situation tells PFT the preliminary evidence indicates the Pounceys were not involved in the alleged assault."

This is both good news and bad news for the Pouncey brother, specifically Mike. It has been a rough year for the Dolphins center as he was not only linked directly to the locker room bullying scandal that rocked Miami last year but he was also subpoenaed in the Aaron Hernandez murder trail as someone the police might have interest in.

So far there hasn’t been much that has come from the subpoena but the fact that the brothers were busted for supporting Hernandez following his arrest in 2013 didn’t help them stay out of the police’s bullseye.

They seem to have done no wrong in this case though, but nothing is certain until the local police officially rule them out as suspects.
