The Greg Monroe situation in Detroit is one that just won’t resolve itself and it’s not getting the type of attention that either side maybe would have liked to be seeing by now. Monroe is a restricted free agent and despite there being interest in him at the trade deadline this past year, all has been quiet on the Motor City front.

More from Detroit Pistons

According to Moke Hamilton from Basketball Insiders and SNY.tv, the Pistons and Monroe seem to be edging closer and closer to a sign-and-trade that would send the big man somewhere — anywhere — other than Detroit.

It’s not that the two sides don’t like each other, it’s just that Monroe wants to play somewhere else and the Pistons missed out on a chance to trade him to Washington when the Wizards were interested back in February.

The match just isn’t there for the Pistons and Monroe which is making the situation their in even more painful that it’s not going anywhere at all.
