The Houston Rockets have had a rough weekend and it’s a weekend that is going to be remembered next May and June for what they gave up, lost out on and acquired that either made their team better than it was last year or caused some regression.

More from Dallas Mavericks

The weekend kicked off with Houston losing out on Chris Bosh but only after they had agreed to trade Jeremy Lin to the Los Angeles Lakers along with a first-round pick.

Ariza will be going to Houston int eh deal, just as he had agreed to before the sign-and-trade but instead of letting him walk for free, the Wizards will now be getting abck a very valuable $8.5 million trade exception that they will more htan likely be trying to use near the deadline this upcoming year.

Houston lost out on Chandler Parsons earlier on Sunday when they declined his offer sheet and allowed him to sign with the Dallas Mavericks. That, coupled with the loss of Bosh and the now foolish trade of Lin and a first-round pick, makes this a hard weekend to call a win for the Rockets but they at least didn’t completely strike out which is more than we thought we’d be able to say about them when the weekend began,
