The San Antonio Spurs fell just short of a championship in 2013.

More from NBA

They wound up losing to the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals in seven games.

They decided to bring their team back for the 2013-2014 season and wound up defeating the Heat in just five games, blowing them out in each of the last three games. They will be once again bringing back their core next season. They’ve already re-signed big man Boris Diaw and point guard Patty Mills.

Now they have agreed to a deal with veteran big man Matt Bonner.

Bonner texted Mike Monroe of The San Antonio Express News to inform him that he would be returning to the Spurs.

According to Shams Charania of Real GM, the deal is worth the league minimum.

Monroe confirmed the contract and had a quote from Bonner.

Bonner averaged 3.2 points and 2.1 rebounds per game last season while shooting 44.5% from the field, 42.9% from three and 75.0% from the free throw line. In his 10-year career, he has put up 6.2 points and 3.2 rebounds per game while shooting 46.7% from the field, 41.7% from beyond the arc and 77.7% from the free throw line.
