The Kansas City Chiefs had a solid 2013 season and are looking to build upon that in 2014. Wide receiver Dwayne Bowe vowed to improve himself during the offseason, specifically his endurance and dropping wait.

“One thing I want to work on — my endurance,” Bowe said, via the Kansas City Star. “I was really, really tired that last game.”

Bower added: “I probably want to play at 208 and try to be as quick and swift as possible, because that’s the kind of receivers that Andy had when he was in Philly. I’d like to be more explosive and faster than I was this season. I just want to work on my work ethic a little more and become quicker and faster so I can be like DeSean Jackson and those speedy, quick guys.”

So how is that going? Bowe says he is down to 212 pounds just a couple weeks away from training camp.

“I made the initiative to be in better shape,” Bowe told USA TODAY Sports on Monday. “I’m getting older, and talking to the old vets, the only way you last longer is to be in better conditioning. I took that to the heart and am training extremely hard this year.”

Bowe added: “I’m moving around, doing lot of motion (in the Chiefs offense), so I want to be as fit and in as good a shape as possible. I feel lighter, and it’s definitely because of what I’m eating and how I’m treating my body. That’s the main reason why I’m feeling so explosive.”
