College football will be undergoing a major change this season in regards to how a national champion is crowned as the 2014 season will see the first playoff in the history of the game. This year will mark the inaugural College Football Playoff, where at the end of the season, four teams will be selected by a human committee to partake in the chase for the title.

One other major change that will be taking place because of this will be the implementation of a new trophy, a trophy that was unveiled by the College Football Playoff on Monday morning.

When all is said and done next January inside AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas, and someone has won the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, they will not be awarded the traditional crystal ball, rather they will have some new hardware that they can sport in the trophy case at their university.
