Adrian Peterson didn’t want any of that weak celebrity softball cheese when he stepped to the plate against Jennie Finch in Sunday night’s All-Star Celebrity Softball game at Target Field in Minneapolis. He wanted a taste of the real fast-pitch softball high heat.
So Finch gave him a taste of the heat. Adrian didn’t like it very much, flailing helplessly at a pair of Finch fastballs before the softball pro let up on him, tossing him a couple of easy ones.
Adrian finally made contact on the second soft one. Manhood restored, sort of. But not really because he came nowhere near making good contact on those first two.
All-in-all, not a great night for Adrian Peterson. Not only did he get owned by Jennie Finch, he also dropped a fly ball in center field. Maybe the pressure of performing for the home fans got to him?
Yeah. Must be that. Adrian wanted to put on a show for the home peeps in Minneapolis and got too wound up. Or perhaps he just sucks at softball.
Hitting and catching, not Adrian’s strengths. Cutting on a dime in traffic, juking some linebacker out of his jock, and laying a Hulk-like stiff-arm on some helpless safety. That’s more up his alley.
