UFC 178 fight card adds Patrick Cote vs Stephen Thompson

The UFC 178 fight card has made an exciting addition in the welterweight division.

UFC officials have announced over the weekend that Patrick Cote will face off against Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson at the event.

Cote vs. Thompson will likely take place on the undercard, though an official bout placement has not been announced.

When Cote and Thompson step into the Octagon at UFC 178, they will each be searching for their fourth consecutive win inside of the Octagon.

UFC 178 will take place on Sept. 27 in Las Vegas with a light heavyweight title rematch between Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson serving as the main event of the night.

The event will also feature the UFC returns of former bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz and No. 1 women’s bantamweight contender Cat Zingano. Both fighters have been serving lengthy layoffs as they recover from torn ACLs.

The current UFC 178 fight card can be seen below:

  • Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson for light heavyweight title
  • Tim Kennedy vs. Yoel Romero
  • Dominick Cruz vs. Takeya Mizugaki
  • Amanda Nunes vs. Cat Zingano
  • Brian Ebersole vs. John Howard
