WWE RAW will emanate live on Monday from Virginia, and it will be the final show before the Battleground pay-per-view this Sunday night, meaning that a lot of things are going to start to come together.

More from WWE

In anticipation of the huge four-way battle this weekend for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, we’re slated to see a six-man tag match in the main event on Monday night involving the participants from the match.

But, aside from that, there’s a lot of questions as to who we may see on this Monday night.

Already rumored is that Ric Flair will be making his return to WWE television. He was in attendance at the Madison Square Garden show this past Saturday, and even got involved with Bray Wyatt during the main event, busting him open when he accidentally popped Wyatt in the eye with his ring.

But, aside from Flair, could we finally see the debut of Sting in a WWE ring after all these years of not working for the company? Earlier this week Sting tweeted out Monday’s date and Monday’s date alone, beginning the speculation that he could be showing up at some point. Of course, as people have pointed out, that tweet could have meant an announcement regarding the upcoming WWE 2K15 video game, but we can all hold out hope, right?

We’ll see all of this, and more, Monday night. And as always, be sure to check back with this page at 8 PM ET as we provide the live coverage of RAW as it happens in real time.

Until then, what do you see happening on Monday? Feel free to start the conversation in the comments below.

Opening Segment

Monday night’s RAW opens up and John Cena’s music hits. The Richmond, Virginia crowd, as most do, give the WWE World Heavyweight Champion a mixed reaction as he makes his way to the ring. They go to a recap of the segment from the end of last week with Cena and Reigns.

He gets on the mix and references the six-man main event for tonight and says, “The Champ is Here!” He plugs the WWE Network and urges the people to sign up so they don’t miss Battleground this Sunday. Nice move, WWE.

Cena admits that he very well might not be the champion come Sunday, given the circumstances that he has to face, battling three other men. Basically, he doesn’t even have to get pinned to lose the title.

Roman Reigns’ music then hits to a pretty good pop. He gets in the ring with Cena and the cheers get even louder. Cena says that because of the cheers, he’d better introduce him, and then he thanks him for bailing him out last week.

Reigns cuts him off mid-sentence and tells him to get to the point. Cena says we’ll see tonight in the main event if Reigns is as good as he thinks he is if they can get rid of Orton and Kane.

Now they’re interrupted by Dean Ambrose on the screen and he cuts a promo on the main event tonight as well. He turns around and Kane and Rollins are waiting for him, followed by Orton. They proceed to bear down Ambrose in the back. It’s all finished off with a curb stomp from Rollins onto a chest.

Sheamus vs. The Miz

For the duration of the match, the Miz will have his face on the titantron, or as he called it, “The Moneymaker.”

After getting thrown to the outside, Miz is able to get some offense in when they get back into the ring. He’s able to stay ahead for a little bit before Sheamus makes the comeback and they head to commercial.

Back from the break and the Miz is back in control as he starts working the leg. After Sheamus starts to line up for the Brogue Kick, Miz catches him off guard and sneaks in the roll up for the win.

Winner: The Miz

Dolph Ziggler vs. Fandango

Dolph comes out to yet another loud pop from the live crowd, which at this point is expected. They briefly cut to commercial. Back from the break, Fandango is in the ring after they recap what happened on Smackdown.

Fandango gets on the offense early here in this one after an opening headlock, then starts stomping Ziggler on the mat. He stays with the upper hand until Ziggler is able to hit a nice clothesline coming off the rope. Right after, though, Fandanago takes over again.

All of a sudden his music hits, and Layla and Summer Rae are dancing on the announce table, distracting Fandango. Ziggler hits the Fame Asser and gets the three count.

The two ladies then hit the ring and the music starts again and they start dancing around Ziggler as Fandango watches from the corner in disgust.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler, in more than one regard

Back from the break, there’s a backstage segment with Adam Rose and Damien Sandow where they peddle Sonic. Last week it was booze, this week–food.

The Usos come out for their entrance, but they’re ambushed from behind by Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. They end up pounding them for the rest of the segment.

Rusev (w/Lana) and Jack Swagger (w/Zeb Colter) Detante

Lana gets on the mic first and starts the America trashing, calling the country stupid about 10 times. She tells Colter and Swagger that she believes they can come to an understanding. She tells Colter that she wants him to admit his country’s mistakes and she wants an apology.

Colter grabs the mic and calls Lana a visitor in our country, and he won’t be apologizing. He tells her the answer isn’t no, rather it’s HELL NO!

She tells him that his arrogance is why the country is crumbling into pieces, but she says that Putin can solve all of the problems. But Colter fires back with putting President Obama’s face on the screen.

Next he asks Rusev when he’s going to stop hiding behind Lana and face Swagger. The Russian gets on the mic and says that this is war now, and presumably we now have a match set for Battleground on Sunday. Lana then slaps Colter and Swagger attacks Rusev, but the big man quickly gets the upper hand. Swagger counters, though, and locks in the Patriot Lock and the crowd erupts.

Lana and Rusev retreat up the ramp.

Alberto Del Rio vs. RVD

Early on in this one, RVD goes for a plancha over the top, but Del Rio was heady enough to pull open the apron and catch him in what was a pretty cool spot, but looked kinda dangerous.

Del Rio stays in control offensively for a good portion of this one until RVD turns the tables off the ropes. He hits the Rolling Thunder, then goes for the Frog Splash, but Del Rio gets the knees up. Right after, he locks in the arm bar and RVD taps.

Winner: Alberto Del Rio

Brie Bella comes to the ring but she’s immediately met by Stephanie McMahon. She threw the blame for the beatings that Nikki has been taking lately on Brie leaving.

Cameron and Alicia Fox come out, to more than likely get pummeled again.

Once again, this ended with Nikki getting it handed to her.

Winners: Alicia and Cameron

Afterwards, we finally saw the long awaited promo for the Sting character in the WWE 2K15 video game.

Cesaro vs. Big E

Cesaro comes out to the ring without Paul Heyman, with Michael Cole saying that he was fired. Interesting.

Early on in this one, Big E gets the powerful upper hand as he knocks Cesaro out to the outside. After a while, Cesaro just starts to wig out and Big E eventually hits him with the Big Ending for the win.

Winner: Big E

Chris Jericho then comes out for a promo to ask Bray Wyatt why he’s been targeting him. Y2J goes through an entire list of his accomplishments before he’s interrupted by Wyatt on the screen.

After Wyatt cuts his promo, the lights go out and Rowan and Harper are in the ring. They beat down Jericho, but he escapes, only to be met by Wyatt at the top of the stage, as well as a Sister Abigail.

AJ Lee defeated Eva Marie in a rather short match, and then went out to have a small conversation with Paige where they sarcastically complimented one another.

Bo Dallas defeated the Great Khali via countout

Right after the 10:30 slot, and following a backstage encounter between Paul Heyman, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, the Nature Boy Ric Flair was shown walking to the ring before they went to commercial.

Back from commercial, Renee Young is in the ring and she announces Flair to a nice pop from the live crowd in attendance in Virginia, the heart of Mid-Atlantic country. Of course, he struts his way down to the ring.

Flair grabs the mic and he says we are live in Richmond, Virginia, and he lets out a big “WOOOOOOO!” Next, he mentions that he had a great time in this city, just ask their mother and fathers. Hilarious.

He tells Renee that Virginia is for lovers and struts around some more. Young then asks him for his prediction on the main event this Sunday at Battleground. After naming all the other participants, he gives his endorsement to Cena and Roman Reigns’ music hits. He makes his way through the crowd.

Reigns gets in the ring and Flair quickly exits.

Not a bad appearance from Flair in his return, but as with a lot of other people, it would have been nice to see him paired up with a young superstar, as has been speculated for quite some time now.

Of course, this is only the beginning of his return, presumably, so there is still time for a potential pairing.

John Cena and Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton, Kane and Seth Rollins

Cena and Rollins get things started off in this one. After Rollins is overpowered, Orton is tagged in and he takes control of the champion. After a few minutes, Orton then tags in Kane to get a turn.

Kane comes in the ring and gets tossed over to the corner, where he makes the tag to Reigns. Kane starts unloading on Reigns, but the newest star fires back. The Big Red Monster gets back on the offensive for a split second before Reigns takes over. He gets Kane into the corner with a splash, then knocks Orton off the apron.

But Kane blindsides Reigns, and Rollins gets the tag before they go to commercial.

Back from the break, Reigns is still in the ring getting it handed to him, this time by Kane. Reigns makes a comeback, landing a nice clothesline on Kane off the ropes. Kane gets the hot tag to Rollins, but Reigns also is able to get the champ in there, who comes in and starts clearing house.

After a distraction, though, Rollins blindsides Cena and takes him to his corner, where he tags in Orton. The Viper gets in and starts taking it to Cena. The champion hits a dropkick, but Randy comes right back and gets a tag to Kane.

Following a lengthy beatdown, Cena is finally able to get Reigns back in there and now he starts taking care of business.

Near the end of the match, however, the worst possible scenario may have played out as Seth Rollins seemed to have legitimately injured his knee after being thrown to the outside. The trainers rushed over and the referee threw up the “X.”

A melee then ensued, meaning that an audible may have been called for a finish. Horrible ending to the night, but thanks for following along, as always.
