Yes, SEC media days are entering the second day and Steve Spurrier comes off the golf course and steps to a microphone on Tuesday, but there was another milestone reached on Tuesday. That’s the release of the Biletnikoff Award watch list.

More from College Football

The award is handed out annually to the best receiver in college football and has been awarded since 1994. Past winners include Larry Fitzgerald, Calvin Johnson and two-time winner Justin Blackmon.

On the 2014 list there are 55 players making the watch list, and the Tallahassee Touchdown Club also pointed out it can change based on in-season performances.

The 2013 award winner, Brandin Cooks, is off to the NFL and that means a new winner will happen in 2014. Also gone were finalists Sammy Watkins (Clemson) and Mike Evans (Texas A&M), who both are in the NFL too.

Leading the watch list are names like Nelson Agholor (USC), Amari Cooper (Alabama), Jamison Crowder (Duke) and Stefon Diggs (Maryland).

The 2014 Biletnikoff Award winner will be presented live on December 11, 2014, on The Home Depot College Football Awards Show to be broadcast from 7:00 – 9:00pm on ESPN. College and Pro Football Hall of Famer Fred Biletnikoff will announce the 2014 winner on the show.
