The deal is set to become official tonight and will see the Hawks acquire Sefolosha for a pair of assets.
Chris Vivlamore of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the Hawks will be sending back the draft rights to Sofoklis Schortsanitis as well as a $4 million trade exception.
Should the deal become completely official tonight, then the trade exception will expire a year from now in 2015. The deal ends a weekend of sign-sand-trade talks between the two teams following Sefolosha’s agreement to sign with the Hawks last week. Rather than let him walk, the Thunder get back a pair of assets that cold end up being very valuable moving forward.
Of course, this is no blockbuster deal, but the Hawks have made out nicely as Sefolosha will fit in nicely with the team that the Hawks are trying to build.
