On Tuesday the wrestling world was abuzz with the news that the company had officially taken the photo of CM Punk and moved it to the Alumni section of their webpage. That move right there indicates that his contract with the company has indeed expired and the two parties are no longer officially affiliated with one another.
Before that, however, there was some hope that they were mending fences. When his wife, AJ Lee, returned to the company and immediately recaptured the title that she lost the night after WrestleMania, there was some talk that maybe there was a reunion on the horizon.
Sadly, that wasn’t the case and now the Second City Saint is gone from the company. So what exactly is their relationship like right now?
Well according to a report from WrestleZone, it not only hasn’t improved, it’s gotten worse more than anything.
For those under the impression that CM Punk’s relationship with WWE might have improved with WWE pushing more Punk Network content and AJ Lee returning to the company, it’s being said that’s absolutely not the case. In fact, the relationship between WWE and CM Punk is likely worse than it has ever been at this point.
That’s truly sad to hear, but if that is indeed the case, then maybe it really is in both’s best interest to be away from one another at this point.
