Davey O’Brien Award 2014 Watch List: Jameis Winston leads the way

The 2014 college football award watch lists continued to be unveiled on Wednesday and one of the most important ones was rolled out in the Davey O’Brien Award list, recognizing the best quarterback in the country for a given season.

Of course, the most notable name on this year’s preseason watch list is the defending winner of the award, Jameis Winston. The O’Brien Award was one of the many accolades that Winston collected en route to the Heisman Trophy and national championship last year.
But there are a lot of returning names on this list that are poised to give him some stiff competition this season, such as Baylor’s Bryce Petty, Oklahoma’s Trevor Knight and UCLA’s Brett Hundley, among others.
