Derek Roy, one of the newest members of the Nashville Predators, admitted that he has been embarrassed with his performance and knew that his training needed to be tweaked. Now, he has asked for nutrition and fitness help from former NHL player, Gary Roberts.

Roberts’ has a well-known fitness and nutrition program and has become quite popular among young NHL players.

Not only being known for its intensity, it has had incredible success getting players into amazing shape.

Roy believes that if he can get in better shape he will be able to avoid injuries such as the ones that have slowed him down over recent years. Although some have complained about the program, many others have seen success. Further information about Roberts’ nutrition plan and what he has to say about it, check out the following article.

“I wanted to come in the best shape I could possibly coming into the season, and that’s why I sought out Gary Roberts and his workout program,” Roy said, via the Tennessean. “I’m feeling great right now and hopefully at the end of the summer I’ll be feeling better and not focusing on injuries.” And apparently Roy feels better and believes this decision is the right one for his health.

Roy is excited to join the Predators, a team which is focused on playing a more offensive style of hockey under new coach Peter Laviolette.

Many new players will be joining Roy on the lineup come training camp in the fall including Mike Ribeiro, Olli Jokinen, James Neal and Anton Volchenkov.
