Once again, Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas and her coach Liang Chow have parted ways.
It is the second time since the conclusion of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London that the two have gone in opposite directions.
The 18 year old had recently returned to Des Moines, Iowa to work with Chow after spending some time out in California, but now she is going to find a new home after just three months.
Chow explained the split to the paper.
“She is searching for a new coach, I guess,” Chow said, via the Des Moines Register. “When the [tryout] period was over, she had to make a decision — either train here or train somewhere else. As I talked to her, I respect her opinion on her decision.”
Douglas has not competed since becoming an Olympic champion, but she hopes to add to her resume at the P&G Championships in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from August 21 to 24.
