Homeland actress Morena Baccarin has been cast in the upcoming animated horror film Malevolent.
Actress Morena Baccarin has plenty of experience when it comes to television. She has been in all kinds of series like Firefly, V, and Heartland. More recently, she can be seen as Jessica Brody on the hit Showtime Original Series Homeland.
However, it would seem as if she is about to be bringing her talents back to the big screen. Well, at least her voice talents.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Homeland actress has been cast in the upcoming animated horror film Malevolent.
Now, for those of you who haven’t yet heard of the upcoming film, here is a quick look at the synopsis for the film courtesy of IMDb.com.
“In order to save her siblings, a young woman takes on her father and the powerful entity known as Gamemaster, who ensnares humans into diabolical plots while her species gambles on the outcome.”
Baccarin will be taking up the role of the Gamemaster.
From what we have seen thus far, it almost seems as if the film is a combination of Repo! The Genetic Opera, without the singing, and the various Saw films.
If nothing else, the film promises to be a dark, twisted, and bloody ride.
Malevolent is being directed by Jason Axinn. The animated horror film will be the first feature length directorial effort for Axinn.
The screenplay for the film is being written by relatively new screenwriters Jim Cirile and Taya C. Klein.
In addition to Baccarin, the film stars Repo! The Genetic Opera actor Bill Moseley, Ray Wise, Dani Lennon, Florence Hartigan, Bill Milsap, Paige Barnett, and many more.
Malevolent is set to be released some time in 2015.
