Kevin Durant has been in the new a lot lately as the return of LeBron James to his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers has led to speculation that Durant could flee OKC and return to his roots with the Washington Wizards.

More from Kevin Durant

Durant grabbed some attention recently for another reason as he apparently can’t splurge on the finest thing sin life despite his massive contract.

According to TMZ, who caught up with Durant outside of a club, the Oklahoma City Thunder star may be able to afford luxurious things thanks to his $86 million contract but he can’t afford to splurge on a $1.4 million sports car.

"Well, you’re about to find out … because after KD got into his Range Rover and drove off, another guy rolled out of Bootsy Bellows and drove off in the Pagani. So far, we’re not sure about the driver’s ID — but to out-floss KD at the nightclub??? That’s no small feat.As for the Pagani … 730 horsepower … 0-to-60 in 3 seconds … and has a top speed of 223mph."

To be fair, Durant didn’t even want to pay up on a $20,000 bet with The Game, which means he’s not so much strapped for cash as he is just cautious about his purchases. He should be applauded for not splurging, even when he can very much afford a $1.4 million car on paper.

In reality, $1.4 million on a car is about as gluttonous as it gets, and it clearly not the way Durant likes to roll.
