Daniel Radcliffe has played all manner of characters in his career. He has been a boy wizard in Harry Potter, a controversial writer in Kill Your Darlings, and a young lawyer in The Woman in Black. Now, he is taking on something totally different in the upcoming film Horns.
In the upcoming horror film, Radcliffe plays a man by the name of Ig Perrish. After his girlfriend is mysteriously raped and murdered, he finds himself as the number one suspect in the case.
After a night of hard drinking, he awakens to find that he is now sprouting horns from his head. Yes, horns.
Both fortunately and unfortunately, those horns are much more than a fashion statement for Perrish.
In a strange turn of events, his horns possess an otherworldly power that forces people to admit their deepest, darkest sins. This is definitely going to come in handy as he attempts to clear his name by tracking down the people who murdered his girlfriend Merrin, who is played in the film by Juno Temple.
Here is a look at the latest poster for the upcoming horror film Horns.
While the poster doesn’t give us much in the terms of the actual characters in the film, it does have a subtle undertone that reveal the darker side of the horns’ power.
Horns is being directed by Alexandre Aja. This seems like the perfect fit as Aja has plenty of experience in the horror genre having directed films like Piranha 3D starring Jerry O’Connell and Richard Dreyfus, Mirrors with Kiefer Sutherland, and The Hills Have Eyes with Kathleen Quinlan and Emilie de Ravin.
The screenplay for the film, which is based off of a novel of the same name by author Joe Hill, is being penned by rookie screenwriter Keith Bunin. This is only the second project for Bunin, who wrote for the television series In Treatment. Horns is his first feature-length project.
The film stars Daniel Radcliffe as Ig Perrish. Horns also stars Sin City: A Dame to Kill For actress Juno Temple, Heather Graham, Sabrina Carpenter, James Remar, Kathleen Quinlan, Kelli Garner, and many more.
Horns is scheduled to be released on October 31, 2014.
