Donald Cerrone: 'All the UFC has to do is call'

UFC Fight Night 45 delivered some of the best action of the year last night. In six main card fights, there were six brutal finishes. Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone capped off the night with yet another highlight reel knockout, this time over the seemingly indomitable Jim Miller.

Cerrone, who took sole possession of the most finishes (12) in UFC/WEC’s lightweight division history, knocked out a man who had never been finished before by TKO or KO. In fact, Cerrone actually finished Miller twice in one fight. Minutes before the head kick knockout, Cerrone landed a flush teep kick to the stomach of Miller that crippled him to the mat. Unfortunately, referee Dan Miragliotta stepped in to stop the bout thinking it was a low blow, when in fact the fight should have been over.

It was no issue for Cowboy, however, as he was able to land the fight ending head kick moments later that left no doubt as to who was the winner.

After the fight, Khabib Nurmagomedov called out Cerrone in what would likely be a No. 1 contender’s bout. In his post fight interview with Heidi Androl, Cerrone made it clear that he is willing and ready to throw down with anyone in the division, stating that “all the UFC has to do is call”.
