The Minnesota Timberwolves know they have to do something about Kevin Love’s situation and that likely means the team sis going to have to trade him this summer or near the trade deadline this season.

More from Minnesota Timberwolves

Owner Glen Taylor, who represents the team in just about everything he says, noted recently that Love’s status with the team doesn’t seem to have changed much, despite the rampant trade speculation that he will be moved to the Cleveland Cavaliers or Golden State Warriors at some point in the near future.

According to Andy Gerder of the Pioneer Press, the Timberwolves believe that Love will be at training camp and expect him to play for them, although making a trade is obviously on their minds.

"“My preference is Kevin (Love) will come to camp – and I’m sure he will – and play with the team. We are going to look at everything that makes sense that would make our team better, but we are not going to move a superb player like that without getting equal or more value back.“"

Love attending training camp and Love wanting to return to the Wolves are two wildly different things and they shouldn’t be confused with one another. The bottom line is that a trade will more than likely happen, unless the Wolves can do for Love what the Portland Trail Blazer did for LaMarcus Aldridge and start winning.
