Packers want Eddie Lacy to be more involved in passing game
By Dan Zinski
Eddie Lacy had a great rookie season for the Packers in 2013, and if the Packers’ coaches have their way he will have an even better year in 2014, but not necessarily by rushing the ball more often.

The Packers say that the plan for Lacy is to make him a more well-rounded player, turning him into a good third down back who can stay on the field for a higher percentage of the offensive snaps.
Offensive coordinator Tom Clements told ESPN’s Rob Demkovsky:
"We haven’t sat down and figured out ‘X’ number of carries for Eddie. We want to get him touches, trying to get him more involved in all aspects of the game, but Eddie was a workhorse for us last year."
This isn’t necessarily a knock against the Packers’ other backs. Green Bay wants Lacy in on third downs because they want to go more up-tempo this season and substituting him out would mean slowing them down.
For the plan to work, Lacy will have to improve his receiving and his blocking. If he can get better in those areas, look for him to have a huge all-around season in Green Bay as they work the fast-break offense with Aaron Rodgers, Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson.
Oh yeah, and fantasy owners, you might want to consider Eddie Lacy. He has a chance to be a fantasy beast this year.
