By Jack Crosby
The clock is ticking until the August 14 launch date of the SEC Network, and nerves are starting to set in with some folks throughout the country. Mainly, the nerves are starting to set in for anyone who loves college football and has DirecTV as their satellite provider because the two sides have yet to enter into an agreement.

There have been countless back and forth exchanges between the two sides, as well as from the fans to both DirecTV and ESPN, the provider of the SEC Network, urging them to get the deal in place before time runs out.
Well Clay Travis from Outkick the Coverage recently received some good news, as he was e-mailed by DirecTV, and they expressed to him that they expect to be able to provide the SEC Network soon.
"The SEC Network is set for one of the most successful sports network launches in history now that DirecTV, the nation’s largest satellite company, emailed Outkick that the company is “quite hopeful” and “expects to be able to provide the network soon.” The public comments of DirecTV square with the private comments of SEC and ESPN executives, who are confident that a deal is near as well."
This isn’t the best news that people were looking for, as they would rather see that a deal has been locked into place, but for now, it’s something positive.
DirecTV, despite being one of the largest cable and satellite providers in the country has drawn a lot of ire from people, and has even already lost some subscribers as that August 14 date nears.
Hopefully the next announcement will be that all things are ready to go from both ends.
