Their 2015 class currently sits at 13 commitments and ranks 14th in the country and third in the ACC. The defending National Champions expect to wind up with another class that is among the top five in the country. With the Seminoles hosting their biggest camp of the year this week, many expect the commitments to start flying in.
That has happened, but the prospects making those pledges are younger than the Seminoles expected.
On Thursday, an extremely talented wide receiver, D.J. Matthews, pledged to the Seminoles. The 6’0, 160-pounder attends Jacksonville First Coast High School, the same school two current Seminoles, defensive lineman Derrick Mitchell and linebacker Reggie Northrup, attended. Current class of 2015 Seminoles’ commitment, 4-Star quarterback DeAndre Johnson, also plays for First Coast.
On Friday, defensive lineman Ja’len Parks made his decision. The 6’4, 275-pounder is from Newberry, Florida.
They are the Seminoles’ first two 2017 commitments.
