Floyd Mayweather apologizes to Ronda Rousey

One of the biggest sports debates making the rounds around sports bars is who would win in a fight, undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather or dominant UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. We’ve heard Rousey and UFC president Dana White comment on it, but previously Mayweather hadn’t so everyone was interested to hear his answer when asked in an interview with a small group of media.

“Everyone is trying to hit the lotto and fight Floyd Mayweather,” Mayweather said.

Someone chimes in with “what about Ronda Rousey?”

Mayweather responds: “I don’t know who he is.”

He was then informed that Rousey was a woman and reiterated that he had never heard of her before. Now Mayweather is being asked about it again, and took the opportunity to apologize, but still didn’t seem to grasp exactly who Rousey is, talking about boxing.

“Yeah, I wish her a congratulations because I didn’t know who she was,” Mayweather explained to Fight Hub TV. “I apologize because I didn’t know. I’m used to watching football and basketball, like I’m not really into boxing like that. When they tell me ‘Floyd you need to check out a fighter, you need to scout a fighter,’ I’ll say ‘Well let me see him. We need to sign him.’”
