Uncharted movie to start shooting in 2015
The Uncharted franchise has been one of the must play, A-list titles for the PlayStation 3. While the game is set to make its transition onto the PlayStation 4 and the current generation, the series is also looking to make a splash on the big screen. An Uncharted movie has been rumored to be in the works for some time now, and it appears, filming will now begin next year.

Director of the film, Seth Gordon, talks about the production timeline of the Uncharted film in an interview with Zap2It.
Gordon mentions that shooting should get underway shortly in stating, “…very early next year. That’s the plan.”
With Uncharted as a series visiting so many different locales, Gordon says that the film will take place “all over the world.”
Mark Wahlberg was initially slated to play the role of main character, Nathan Drake, until director David O. Russell dropped out of the film. Gordon is now looking to replace the role.
In trying to find his Nathan Drake, Gordon said, “I want it to be a great actor. That’s number one, and then if it’s someone who has an actual jaw, that’s even better. The game is so well done that you need it to live up to that. There’s no way we’d do the inverse of that where it’s somebody famous who can’t [act].”
With regards to how closely the game and film adaptation will run, Gordon said “It’s going to honor the mythology of the game, but I would say honor some of the most interesting stuff from the first one and build from there,” he says. “There’s some stuff that isn’t in the game.”
It’s a bit disconcerting that the movie has already gone through its fair share of issues. With director changes and no lead actor, it sounds like a scrambling episode of Entourage. At any rate, with Uncharted being so integral to the gaming community, and well suited for the big screen, we can only hope this turns out.
