The successful recruiting weekend for Georgia continued on Saturday morning when the Bulldogs successfully flipped Florida commit and three-star safety Deontai Williams (Jacksonville, Fla. Trinity Christian Academy) and became the 15th member of the Dawgs 2015 class.

Georgia received the commitment from three-star cornerback Shaquery Wilson on Friday at the start of Dawg Day and continued that momentum into Saturday where Williams flipped on his commitment he gave to the rival Gators on Jan. 9.

Williams is the nation’s No. 461 player overall regardless of position, No. 29 safety and the No. 63 recruit in the state of Florida, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He also had offers from LSU, Notre Dame, Auburn, Mississippi State and Louisville, among others.

At 6-0, 175-pounds, Williams has the versatility and skill-set to play anywhere in the secondary. He could play the nickel, cornerback or stick at safety depending on how new defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt feels he will be needed the most.

Williams had 43 tackles, 7.5 for loss, three interceptions, two pass breakups and one fumble recovery, which he ran back for a touchdown last season as a junior. His Trinity Christian Academy team is one of the top programs in the state and in the nation with Kevin Toliver and Jeff Holland two of the top recruits in the entire 2015 player pool.

With the commitment of Williams, the seventh highest-ranked commitment of the 15 on board, Georgia now owns the nation’s No. 10 class and the No. 7 class in the SEC.

This may not be the last commitment of the weekend as a number of visitors are in Athens this weekend and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see one of them pull the trigger and follow Williams and shut down their recruitment.
