Floyd Mayweather is traveling around promoting his September bout with Marcos Maidana and has made news just about every other day, whether it is not knowing who UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is or buying his girlfriend a Rolls Royce for her birthday.

At his latest stop in Chicago, he was asked about his friendship with Justin Bieber and Johnny Manziel, specifically whether it was a marketing ploy, by NBC Chicago’s Peggy Kusinski. Mayweather first addressed the Manziel part of the equation without really answering it, praising what he did in college and predicting that he’d be capable in the NFL.

Then Kusinski interrupted Mayweather right as he was about to address the Biebs part of the question, saying: “People think that’s the oddest matchup, you two together.”

Mayweather was not a fan of that comment and responded by saying, “Uh, to me it seems like that’s kind of racial profiling. To me.”

Then she tried to clarify, by saying something that seemed to only validate a Mayweather’s initial reaction.

“Do you listen? Well, I’m talking about his music,” Kusinski said.

“I’m just saying, I mean, why? You don’t know what kind of music I listen to, do you?” Mayweather responds with.

“No, that’s why I asked you.” Kusinski says.

“So that’s racial profiling,” Mayweather declares.

I have to agree with The Money Team on this one, declaring it odd that a black athlete would listen to Justin Bieber does seem like racial profiling. She didn’t seem to care that he also comes to the ring with rapper Lil Wayne, that didn’t strike her as odd.

Of course it could be the more common, guys don’t listen to Justin Bieber because he makes music for teenage girls assumption.

If you’re curious about Kusinski, she is still taking the stance that it is not racial profiling.
