While he might still not know how to keep himself out of trouble, Charlotte Hornets rookie P.J. Hairston still was one of the best basketball players in the recent draft this past June, and in Summer League action, he’s proving that once again.

In a game on Saturday against the New York Knicks, watch in the video below as Hairston takes the ball, drives the lane and throws down one of the most powerful dunks we’ve seen in Summer League action thus far.

Again, there was never really anyone denying Hairston’s talent. They didn’t deny it when he was at North Carolina for the short time that he was, and they certainly didn’t deny it when it came time for the NBA Draft as he proved during his time with the Texas Legends that he can get the job done at this level.

More from Charlotte Hornets

But still, when you see a video like this and you’re reminded of just how talented Hairston is, you really hope that he can get his life fully together so we can watch him grow into the player on the court that some of us believe that he can be.

If he can get everything straight and pull stuff like this off on the NBA floor, then Michael Jordan may have found himself the gem of the draft class.
