The 6’2, 180-pounder attends Kamehameha High School. He took an unofficial visit over the weekend and had a feeling he’d commit to the Ducks once the weekend came to an end.
“I knew going into the visit I would probably commit to Oregon,” Kane said via Justin Hopkins of 24/7 Sports. “I wanted to have this done before season and that was the reason I made this trip as soon as I could. I know a lot of players that have gone to Oregon and are there, it’s very comfortable for me.”
Kane raved about everything the Ducks have to offer.
“I love the coaching staff and the academics at Oregon,” he said. “That’s really what set them apart was the academic support. I know they are going to take care of me and help me succeed. That says a lot when they put in that much effort off the field. Oregon definitely felt like the right place when I was there and I knew it’s where I wanted to be.”
Kane is ranked as the country’s 100th-best safety prospect, the ninth-best overall prospect from the state of Hawaii and the 1,314th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings. Kane also holds offers from the Boise State Broncos, Hawaii Warriors and rival Oregon State Beavers, among others.
